The "Brown Duck" by CARHARTT
Brown-coloured duck, a durable canvas cloth, has been the trademark fabric of Carhartt garments since Hamilton Carhartt founded his work wear business in 1889. The name “duck” hails back to the Dutch word “doek” which was originally used to describe linen canvas.
In 2010 Carhartt WIP introduced a new “brown duck” logo: a new signature embroidery that pays homage to the fact that Carhartt has been putting a little bit of “brown duck” into all of their clothes for 120 years. Since then the “brown duck logo” is featured on the tops range as shirts, polo shirts, knits, T-shirts and jackets.
